黑人在美国历史上被称为什么?

In

the

summer

of

1919,

a

group
of
young
white
boys
from
Michigan
Lake
laid
out
on
the
sand
for
several
thousand
people
who
had
come
to
take
advantage
of
the
hot
weather.
A
black
boy
named
Eugene
Williams
was
unlucky
enough
to
fall
through
a
line
that
was
invisible
but
didn’t
appear
in
the
sky
–
the
line
that
defined
their
race.
The
other
side
of
the
invisible
line
was
where
an
African
American
was
approaching
him,
feeling
attacked
by
racial
prejudice.
After
all
that,
he
threw
rocks
at
Eugene
and
received
severe
injuries
as
a
result.
While
the
local
community
suffered
significant
damage
to
homes
and
businesses
due
to
the
chaos
and
violence,
it
became
the
most
violent
and
grisly
ethnic
violence
in
US
history
until
1926.
On
August
3rd,
the
riotous
event
came
to
an
end
as
23
black
people
died
and
15
white
people
lost
their
lives,
along
with
more
than
five
hundred
people
injured.
In
addition,
800
families
had
lost
their
homes
and
were
left
homeless
when
the
racial
riots
began
in
1919.
The
total
loss
of
life
reached
over
one
thousand
two
hundred
black
Americans
and
15
white
Americans.
Over
ten
thousand
Black
American
households
suffered
from
being
burned
down
by
settlers
or
having
their
homes
destroyed
during
the
rioting
season
of
summer
1919.
The
aftermath
of
the
riots
were
marked
with
bloodshed,
violence,
destruction,
and
loss
of
life
that
would
remain
a
legacy
in
American
history
forever.
